Great post! As I’ve aged and mellowed, I’ve turned into a new-agey music person. But there’s those days…on ‘those’ days, I resort to the goodies – AC/DC, Metallica, Chili Peppers or a dash of Rammstein.

Whilst I don’t share your musical taste, I do love that meme. It provides a more acceptable alternative to my normal one – just (adjective) do it! Great advice 🙂

The dogs make a run for it when they hear that playlist… I think they prefer it when I listen to The Black Eyed Peas, Madonna or Josh Groban 😉

If I’m having real trouble with writing something, I often put it aside and write something completely unrelated. That usually switches me back on to what I’m supposed to be doing in the first place. The only time I’ve had trouble with this was the middle and end of last year – my dad was ill and going through treatment and it killed my ability to write totally – nothing seemed to work for that. Don’t know how these ‘tortured’ writers do it. All back in gear now though 🙂 I find listening to Queen a good way to get the writing gears going too.

Queen is awesome! I’m sorry to hear about your dad, I hope he is doing better now. Sometimes, when loved ones are ill, the muse flees. I can’t even read then — so I binge watch super hero movies/TV series 🙂

When I get stuck on detail, I step back into planning mode, I’ll write quite detailed breakdowns for plots and scenes and that kicks me back into the mood and gets me over the blank page syndrome 🙂

I’m making a giant poster of that meme. (And not because I’m secretly in love with Jon Snow.) love this post!

Sometimes it’s tough to get the work done. But it’s our responsibility to do it. We have to “warrior up.” That’s a good way of putting it.

Warrior up! I love that (and Jon Snow). I’m going to have to remember this the next time the TV looks more tempting than the keyboard!

I know one thing I don’t do is reach out enough to people. I don’t know why I had that epiphany while reading your blog, but somehow, Warrior Up made me think of that. Great post!

You’re welcome, Raimey 🙂 Writing can be a lonely profession and sometimes we need a bit more support — like your own post this month showed — and sometimes we need to remember to hang out with those who aren’t figments of our imagination.

Love the meme and the phrase ‘Warrior Up”, it’s really motivational! I’m really bad at wanting to start on a Monday or the first of the month, when really I just need to get on with it!

Great post! I love the John Snow meme and it doesn’t just apply to writing but to almost every part of being an adult and having to get things done.

I had a great role model so I look at every day as a day to create. I write, draw, build, design, take photos (some times all of those in the same day.)
