I is for invitation.

Stories invite us to write them.

Maybe through dreams, visions or an a-ha! moment. Something was the catalyst for writing that newest bestseller you’re working on.

As writers, we are constantly invited to get to know our characters. Whether it is by flipping through fashion magazines or going to a MMA class to find out what the hell mixed martial arts really is – because for some reason your MC does this to blow off steam – our characters invite us to get to know them and their world.

Yet, sometimes we get stuck in plotholes. Though there is a way out of those sticky spots of meh…

Here’s what I wrote in November during NaNoWriMo to inspire my fellow Wrimos:

Go ahead and accept invitations from fictional friends. Be amazing.
