Great pieces of advice, Ronel. My blessing, my awesome job (non-withstanding a couple of not-so-awesome spirits), is my curse. It makes me “lazy” to push my writing to be my main thing and make money for me.

Yay! I think if we stick together, we’ll go places and be rich and famous. Hehe! A couple of bestsellers would be the ultimate! 😃🤗❤

🙂 You can do most of the talking at live events and convince people to buy all the stock 😉 I realised Saturday that selling my work by talking in front of a crowd isn’t my strong suit — one-on-one works better.

Sounds like a plan. ☺ I need to work on creating a market. I love to talk and the crowd, after all. 😃

You are doing such a great job with your A to Z. I may have to find a place in my link library for this post too. Great advice and information.

I like #4 and #8 best (and love all the others, too). I write a variety of ways–nonfic, fic, freelance–because who knows what will work any given week? And I absolutely believe it’s a numbers game. I have over a hundred books/booklets for sale which is enough to drive the business. Just a few of them–even three–wouldn’t work.

As a reader, I actually disagree with being hook on a series. I feel authors take them way beyond the series capacity, especially when they include spin-offs. I tire of reading the same world over and over, and usually drop the series if it extend beyond 5 novels. Guess that’s why I won’t write beyond a trilogy and prefer stand-alones.

Different readers like different things — that’s what makes writing so exciting! I agree that some series shouldn’t have gone past the first book, while others are great to follow (like going back to Percy Jackson’s world). Thanks for stopping by 🙂

Ronel,
I always wanted to make a living as a writer but learned it really wasn’t for me. I haven’t given up hope completely but I don’t have the longing as I once did. Who knows maybe somewhere over time I will find my place in the literary world making a living with my writings. 😉

Ronel,
I linked the wrong letter prompt with your post. I’m sorry about that. I’m trying to catch up and goofed. Here’s what I meant to share iPad Art Sketch’M’ is for my favorite Monster. 😉

If Doctor Seuss could do it (with his literary nonsense genre) then I’m sure there’s a place for all of us 🙂

I share that dream too, but this post sets it out really well. Yet another one for the book mark, to be re-visited and worked on once April is behind us.
